Understand the importance of reciting Surah al-Kahf for protection against life's trials. He completed his memorization of Quran at the age of 13 and went on to receive ijaza from Palestine. He has served in Young Muslims YM for many years as a coordinator and murrabi. He spends his days combining studying Islamic Law and serving his community through means of teaching, lecturing, delivering Friday sermons, leading prayers, counseling etc.

Furthermore, he is also a great influencer at the Badr Academy. He has pursued traditional Islamic studies at the Alimiyah level over the last decade with numerous teachers, primarily under the mentorship of Shaykh AbdulNasir Jangda. He has been serving the community in a full-time capacity in various roles such as a youth director, Islamic Studies teacher, chaplain, and imam, as well as the Director of Roots Community Space.

He currently resides in Dallas, TX with his wife and two children. And has recently won the largest Quran competition in the world in Saudi Arabia. Shaykh Mikaeel Ahmed Smith is an instructor at Qalam. He currently resides in Dallas, TX with his wife and three children.
