While his reported behavior was not news to anyone in the industry, the article broke ground by featuring on-the-record accounts of mental and physical abuse. In recent weeks, more former Rudin assistants have spoken out in other publications. Given his legacy of successes, many in Hollywood say they hope he can find a path back. McDormand won two Oscars this year, but skipped the press line entirely to avoid being asked about him.

They may be silent, but the former assistants are not. KCRW spoke to three of them.
